Main Purpose of the Role 

The Student Wellness Manager will oversee the psychosocial wellbeing of distance learning students by providing counselling services, social education programmes, awareness campaigns, and life skills development initiatives. 

The role focuses on creating a supportive student environment that promotes emotional wellbeing, mental health awareness, social development, and student success. The successful candidate will also contribute to student engagement through community projects, student council support, and educational wellness programmes.

Key Responsibilities 

Counselling Services 

The Student Wellness Manager will provide professional counselling and support services to students. Responsibilities include: 

  • Providing primary counselling services to students

  • Ensuring counselling standards align with SACSSP and HPCSA regulations

Minimum Requirements 

To qualify for the STUDENT WELLNESS MANAGER vacancy, applicants must meet the following requirements: 

  • NQF Level 8 qualification in Social Work or Counselling Psychology  
  • NQF Level 9 qualification is advantageous  
  • Registration with SACSSP or HPCSA  
  • 1–2 years of face-to-face counselling experience after qualification
